new shape, same inside

It's been a while and the summer was very creative.

I've been recording new stuff, playing with Pero on the Slovenian day of music in june where also our friend Anže Žurbi had joined us (on cajon and percussion). I already felt, this is going to be a new chapter of mojcART with a little more rhythm added to it! Due to Pero's arm injury we took the rest of the summer off and that left me time to record some demos ( http://soundcloud.com/mojcart/sets/weather-unplugged/ )

As the summer slowly came to an end, I received a msg if we wanted to play as one of the opening acts for Sigur Ros in Maribor!! With Pero recovering from his injury and no plan how to prepare for such a big opportunity, I started searching for a guitar substitute, which we've both agreed on. Since there were only 10 days left (!!) to the concert, I asked around and soon got an answer and a guitarist for the gig! Matej, which also happened to be our sound-guy for this concert and has helped in so many ways, introduced me to him. And Martin Lunder joined us. It was a crazy week! Having as much rehearsals as possible, the day has arrived and we did it! Our first gig together in front of Melodrom and Sigur Ros. Magic all around. Even Pero got to join us on two songs, I couldn't be happier for him, since he's a big fan of Sigur Ros :) glad I could make that wish come true ;)

mojcART is now spreading roots with two new members: Anže Žurbi (cajon, percussion) and Martin Lunder (electric guitar). I'm excited what happens next! For now, I'm happy to have met new people/musicians who are supporting my music and are willing to contribute with their ideas and the passion for music.

mojcART live

mojcART had the first gig abroad. Freilassing is a small town in Germany, right across the border of Salzburg/Austria. People welcomed us with such warmth and generosity... We felt really good and hope they did too, listening to the music we had to offer. Pero and me decided, this was not the last trip to a foreign country. The next day we visited Salzburg and played a little in the beautiful Mirabell park. Some caught moments of the gig.

.dance in the city.

Hello dear musicians, friends, colleagues, friends & foes.

Just thought, I'd write a little something, since it's been quite a while. At the moment I'm excited to be in the studio again, recording new songs,..Singing, playing guitar, clapping, laughing and trying out new stuff. Matej is supportive as always, keeps boosting my caffeine level and is innovative with the sound. Pero is patiently waiting for his moment:)

Leaving you with a few caught moments from yesterday. Also had the chance to stand behind the lens,ahh..I'm learning sth new every day..Thnx Matej!

A little piece of the new song DANCE IN THE CITY.

"This dance in motion without emotion
we can't go on like this.
The act of passion is beat by fashion,
I won't face defeat"

can't wait for you to consume it once it's whole.. Keep you updated, stay creative!

naio ssaion

the v i s i o n

It’s inside of us
it’s the machine that takes control
it never pretends it always demands
clearer as the day

this dream we share
is bigger then the vision
we can bare
hold on to me,
this ride is gonna be wild!

take time
to notice the life around you
your background that defines you
shapes your heart

we drink from the same glass
to avoid this mess we’re in
we all have a different taste
but in the end we satisfy our thirst

The echo of our hearts
reaching out to find you
move you ‘till you feel your
inside melting down

.never when it rains.

Hello dear bloggers;)

it's been a while since I've written anything here.
But I haven't been sleeping. The songs, texts and thoughts keep growing in my black book. Just a few more pages and it's full... I've taken some time off during summer,as you all know, the 16 bands I'm in, do take some energy and time;)

I haven't been in the studio with Matej for a while now, but I've kept on recording ideas on my own. The last song we've recorded there, was one of the first ones I wrote. I remember coming into the Mush-room:), Matej has set the mic and plugged in the guitar cable.. First I've recorded the guitar and after that I sang. I haven't managed to record a better take to fit in with the song later, after a few months.. So I've just kept the first one! (except for the back vocals and some additional stuff..).
It's a special song,..not only because of it's content and all of the emotions attached to it.. but, because of the whole recording process and the people who joined and helped to make it sound even sweeter:)

It's amazing how this song has grown. Like a child. And now it finally stands and walks on it's own. Maybe it will walk towards you, talk to you, smile at you:)

whatever you feel listening to it, be sure, I've felt it too when I've wrote it and sang it. And I still do,..everyone starts anew every now and then. And it's always the people around us,..that are important, aren't they? Remember the ones who stand by you, the ones you can call in the middle of the night! They're like a song, you remember and listen to when you need comfort. Doesn't matter how old it gets, you remember it.. even in 20 years! :)

Close some doors. Not because of pride, but because that no longer fits your life.

.back to the roots.

Back to the roots.

drums.
guitar.
bass.
voice.

This is how I picture it. Simple but sufficient. People with the same passion for MUSIC. People who.. not only play music, who feel it and can't breathe without it. Who like to share it with others, just cuz of the joy it brings! People who want to unite their melodies, aspects, interpretations... For the magic results. No egos. No excessive egos. Although, cooperating with egos can bring good results, I'm still convinced, positive encouragement and motivation can do too!

No one want's to make music and be creative in a negative environment, right? I'm sure most of you musicians would agree. If you don't, well then you haven't experienced it before, but you should! The good relationships between the members are essential! Everyone should be aware of each-others strengths and support them!

Anyways, I'm up to something. I feel it could be a start of something really good. I'll keep you up to date every now and then. All I can say is, it's going to be awesome!! If it's not awesome, then it'll probably be pretty awesome!:D

last but not least:

treat others as you wish to be treated.
