.DIY.

After a conversation I had with Matej, talking about how to approach the next recording.., he had convinced me, to try to record each instrument by myself. As I'm not the most confident person and musician on the planet, I had my doubts.. (still have them :D ), but I thought, I had to give it a try! I think the one thing, that keeps us from trying and experiencing new stuff.. is the fear. The breaks in our head. Low self-esteem. Sometimes, we just need a little push from the ones, who really believe in us! At least, that works for me! :D

So after a great meal we cooked with Matej, Pero joined us (which reminds me, he'll have to cook for us next time) we went downstairs to the mush-room :D Then we set the tempo for the song and I've recorded the acoustic guitar, just to have an idea how the song and the form work. After a little jam I've added a bridge, which fit perfectly to the verse and the chorus:)
Matej had suggested that the guitar would need a different sound, since it's not going to be an acoustic song.. and soon I've heard that we're definitely going with the e-guitar. We picked something crunchy for the verse.. and later on added additional keyboard sounds, which just works great with one another - but I'm still letting this option open for different sounds. But totally going for LESS and UNUSUAL :) So I've recorded the verse and added a few things to the acoustic guitar in the chorus. Since I've had a few problems with playing that part with the same technique and dynamic as I did with the acoustic one, I just left it this way for now. It sounds pretty cool though, but it'll be different with the drums over that.

Drums are the coolest instrument ever.. I always wanted to own a set, but due to the loud noises which they produce, I got a guitar for my 14th birthday :) oh well.. But any chance I get, I just love to sit and play (before I lose my mind and complain about the legs and the arms...and how they have minds of their own:D ).
So i sat and just tried a few beats. I wanted to start very simple, so I could build the beat to the chorus (for which I didn't really have any ideas yet, so I've left it open for now..). I've just been trying to play what I felt at the moment, without thinking about it before.. Matej just recorded that and it's amazing when I hear it afterwards.. not because it's played that well,haha.. but just because I never know how I come up with ideas on an instrument I never play. Only if you count the air drums :D

That's the beauty of jamming right? Either with an instrument, or with your voice and lyrics. It just flows out of you, you don't know where it came from, but you somehow know for certain ,you're never gonna run out of ideas! :)

go for it and Do It Yourself! :)
